Member Special Offers
Municipalities have a new channel for purchasing products and services related to information and communications technologies – a one-stop Web page that contains special offers that are uniform across the country.
The special offers are being made through national licensing agreements negotiated by MISA/ASIM Canada. This marks the first time that municipalities across Canada have had equitably priced access to the same products and services.
The 11 companies are offering discounted prices to qualifying municipalities – those that are members of the five associations within MISA/ASIM Canada: MISA Atlantic, MISA BC, MISA Ontario, MISA Prairies or RIMQ.
Creation of the special offers in March 2008, with three initial vendors, is described in detail in a news release.
The addition in May of a fourth vendor, Digital Boundary Group, is described in an announcement.
In February 2009 MISA/ASIM Canada announced additions to the program from Sophos plc of England and Texthelp Systems of Northern Ireland.
August 2009 witnessed the arrival of a new offer from DesTech Consulting & Education, announced in a news release. Later that same month MISA/ASIM Canada issued a release about an offer from Kaspersky Lab.
The ninth special offer, from Trend Micro, and the 10th, from Websense Canada, were announced in news releases in September 2009.
News of a special offer lowering prices of conferences produced by the Strategy Institute was published in October 2009.
