The MISA Security Special Interest Group (SIG) is a group focused on researching and providing valuable information to MISA Ontario members on a variety of topics related to information technology security. Each year, the SIG selects a small number of focus areas based on input from the MISA Ontario community and SIG members.
In December 2012, the MISA Information Security SIG conducted a survey within the MISA Ontario community. The survey consisted of seven (7) questions, primarily designed to discover the ubiquity of Social Media in municipalities, and if any governance around the use of these technologies is in place.
Some basic analysis has been performed on the survey results to determine relationships between size of municipalities and their use of Social Media.
