The City of London has launched an interactive budget tool - www.buildabudget.ca.
The website is intended to provide Londoners with information on the proposed 2014 Budget as well as obtain their feedback on the relevant issues and priorities that are important to them. The insight gained from this tool will be provided to Council as part of their deliberation process.
"The City of London continues to try and find meaningful and innovative ways to engage the public on the budget process and we believe this new website reflects our commitment to that end,” states Jon-Paul McGonigle, Business Planning Process Manager, Finance and Corporate Services.
The launch of www.buildabudget.ca comes on the heels of a successful Build a Budget workshop hosted by the City this past Saturday at Goodwill Industries, where Martin Hayward (CFO) and other senior civic leaders were available to answer public inquiries on the proposed 2014 Budget.
There is another workshop scheduled for Wednesday January 15, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Goodwill Industries. Register at https://budget2014.eventbrite.ca.
"We understand people are very busy and participating in a public engagement can be difficult for people’s schedules, so it is important to offer multiple opportunities for Londoners to have their say,” adds McGonigle.
