Regional Council approved, on June 29, the implementation of an electronic agenda meeting management system, by appointing Accela Inc. as the service provider for the next three years, with the option to extend for an additional two years.

Accela's civic platform Legislative Management, is a cloud-based agenda meeting management solution that provides a mobile app, WeGovern.

"The Region is committed to streamlining its processes and improving the flow of information within the corporation," said Matthew Gaskell, Commissioner of Corporate Services. "Implementing an electronic agenda meeting management system will help to accomplish this, while also promoting further transparency and ensuring easier access to public information."

The new electronic agenda meeting management system will automate several legislative processes, such as circulating reports, and producing and posting meeting agendas, as well as Durham Regional Council and Committee of the Whole reports. The electronic system also provides Regional staff with more efficient agenda and minute compilation, along with an electronic means of managing information in accordance with legislative requirements.

Further information about the Region's electronic agenda meeting management system will be shared as it becomes available.
