The Multiplex Site Evaluation Assessment Task Force wants input from Cambridge residents when choosing a site for the Multiplex, the city's proposed new multi-use recreation facility.

The survey is now available on engageCambridge, the city's new online portal for public engagement. It asks residents to provide input on a variety of criteria related to the Multiplex location. These include transportation access, timing of development, project costs, city building and economic activity.

Residents are being asked to rate their agreement, on a scale of one to five, to statements about these factors. They also have the opportunity to answer an open-ended question regarding what is most important to them in the Multiplex location, or to provide additional comments.

"This is an important opportunity for the community to have their say on what they value the most in determining a location for the Multiplex," said task force Chair Chris Smith. "We encourage everyone to participate so that the task force members can have a good understanding of what matters to the community in arriving at our recommendations."

To assess potential sites and provide input on the location of the new facility, City Council appointed a Multiplex Site Evaluation Assessment Task Force comprised of council members, City staff and community members.

The task force will oversee public consultation on the community's key criteria for a Multiplex location, including this survey, as well as two public information centres. It will then assess a variety of sites based on these criteria and provide recommendations to Council this fall.

More information on the Multiplex and a full schedule of Multiplex Site Evaluation Assessment Task Force meetings, which are open to the public, is available at www.cambridge.ca/multiplex.
