City of Barrie to Host a Municipal Innovation Conference on September 16, 2015

The City of Barrie is hosting our first Municipal Innovation Conference on September 16, 2015. Registration for this Conference will be open during the 2nd week of July, 2015 – more information to follow.
The Conference will be open to municipal employees, council and public committee members who are interested in municipal innovation. The one-day conference will feature a morning workshop with Juice Inc, three afternoon panel discussions about how municipalities are driving innovation today, a networking reception and a keynote dinner presentation.
The three planned afternoon panel discussions are:
Driving Innovation through Facilitation
This panel will focus on municipalities who have used staff training, facilitation and/or internal/external consultants to drive innovation in their organization.
Driving Innovation through Engagement
This panel will feature municipalities who leading the way in using staff or community engagement activities, such as contests, committees, hackathons, etc to drive innovation in their organization.
Driving Innovation through Technology
This panel will showcase municipalities who are using technology and/or open data initiatives to drive innovation in their organization.
We are looking for panelists in each of these areas who are willing to share their pilots, projects and programs with the attendees, and answer questions from participants.
If you are interested in being a panelist for one of the sessions above, please complete a panelist submission form by July 6th and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org. If approved, you will be asked on September 16, 2015to participate in a 60 min panel discussion with up to 3 other panelists, and be available during the networking reception to answer additional questions from conference participants.
