MISA Ontario Announces 2017 Award Winners at Annual Conference in the City of Windsor

Every year, The Municipal Information Systems Association of Ontario (MISA) recognizes municipalities, individuals within municipalities and organizations for excellence in the use and delivery of technology.  

A panel made up of representatives from various municipalities selects award recipients from all of the nominations received.  Awards were presented at the Annual Conference Awards Banquet on June 5 in Windsor, Ontario.  

2017 winners who receive the Excellence in Municipal Systems award include:

City of Brampton

 Hybrid Identity Management Systems

Recipient: Eric Pulnicki, Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture & Planning

Town of Innisfil

Municipal Operations & Reporting (MOAR) Integration Project

Recipient: Grant Cowan, IT Manager, Dave Ross, Programmer/Software Developer

City of Toronto

Enterprise Geospatial Environment

Recipients: Andy McGhie, Director, Geospatial Competency Centre

City of Toronto

Implementation of the new Vehicle-for-Hire Legislation

Recipients: Tina Scott Manager, Business Applications – Web Centre

City of Kitchener

Project Everest

Recipients: Mike Bolger, Manager Business Systems & Database Administration

The LOLA International Excellence in Municipal Systems

Salar, Sweden

SSBTEK Digital Service for Financial Aid

Recipient: Annika Londono, Project Leader

Antwerp, Belgium

ACPaaS Antwerp City Platform as a Service

Recipient: Nicolas Uzelac

There were several other awards that also recognized outstanding individual contributions to MISA Ontario last night:

This year the People’s Choice Award went to the Town of Innisfil.  

The Partner of the Year Award was presented to eSolutions Group Limited for their ongoing support of the association. The President of eSolutions Group Limited, Karen Mayfield, accepted the award. 

The highly esteemed Roy Wiseman Award was presented to Geoff Hogan from Grey County for his dedicated service to the association as a board member in various senior roles in MISA Ontario and MISA Canada.
