 Call for Abstracts:

For this year’s Symposium, we are looking to focus on the ICS lifecycle as a whole. To achieve this awareness during the event, we are seeking proposals on:

 The current state of ICS and ICS security (IT security design applied in an OT environment);

  • Design decision, budgets, return on investments

Designing and planning for success (security by design, at the beginning!);

  • Programs vs. point solutions and Standards review (CIS20, NERC CIP, NIST CSF)
  • Maintenance and scaling of support
  • Outsourced model for OT?

Lessons learned and case studies (what has and has not worked for you)

  • Security success and fails (owner/operator experiences, not just vendors)
  • Innovations in delivery models
  • Life after an event/ Life after an audit (owner/operator experience)

Current and future trending (impacts of ransomware and beyond)

  • Cloud or on-premises
  • Perimeter or end point
  • Cyber Security Insurance

In addition, we are seeking proposals tailored towards each sector that explain the role and impact of ICS (what is ICS with regards to the sectors of water, energy, manufacturing, transportation, etc..).

Abstract Submission deadline:  February 14, 2020

 Registration:

The 2020 ICS Security Symposium has been expanded to 5 days this year and will include:

  • May 25: ICS Forum for Management*
  • May 26 & 27: ICS Security Conference and Vendor Exposition
  • May 28: ICS Security Technical Workshop (priority given to participants travelling from outside the GTA)
  • May 29: ICS Security Technical Workshop for participants local to the GTA.

*New this year! Public Safety Canada will be hosting focused sessions (two hours; choice of morning or afternoon session) for those unfamiliar to the complexities of ICS security. The objective of these sessions will be to educate management/senior officials in ICS security through presentations, live demos, and facilitated discussions. Registration will be limited for these sessions, and we encourage those responsible for infrastructure to attend in order to broaden their knowledge on the impacts and issues facing ICS today. Come for the ICS Forum for Management, Stay for the ICS Conference!

The Symposium is limited to 300 participants and the ICS Forum for Management and Technical Workshops are limited to 40 participants each.  Please note that registration priority will be given to Canadian critical infrastructure(CI) owners and operators.  If you are not a Canadian CI owner or operator, you can still register, but approval will be based on space and will be confirmed to registrants later this Spring.  There is no fee to attend the Symposium and Workshops.  Any expenses, including meals, transportation, accommodations, etc. are the responsibility of the participant.
